Living in the country I regularly hear barn owls this time of the year and I find the sound magical and soothing, such beautiful amazing birds with a haunting beauty that's hard to beat, and such an absolute joy to paint. I try to paint them in a way that is unique and atmospheric, yet still with a good degree of detail and realism, striving for a happy balance between the two ~
